Known Issues

Question #1: When searching for some indexed records, I get an “Image not available” message where I would expect to see “View image”. How can I view these images?
Answer #1: If you are searching for an ancestor, and

  1. the record detail page states "Image not available", AND
  2. you cannot find the digital folder number associated with that record when you browse,

then, you have two options:

  1. you can to order the film number associated with that record to view the image. See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche for instructions on ordering microfilm, as well as finding a local FamilySearch Center where you can view these films; OR
  2. you can follow the instructions found on the Photoduplication Services wiki and receive a free copy of the specific record you are searching for. Be sure to include the information from the record detail page, including the film number, digital folder number, and image number.
