  • 1st Battalion, North Carolina Junior Reserves- Confederate
    Ogranized with three companies at Camp Holmes, near Raleigh, on 25 May 1864.
    Fourth company added on 15 June 1864.
    Consolidated with the 6th Infantry Battalion, Junior Reserves, and designated as the 70th Infantry Regiment (1st Junior Reserves) at Weldon on 4 July 1864.
  • 1st Regiment, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Formed in July, 1864, at Weldon, North Carolina, by consolidating the 1st and 6th Junior Reserves Battalions which had just been organized.
    Surrendered with the Army of Tennessee.
    Also known as the 70th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry
  • 2nd Regiment, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Formed in December, 1864, by consolidating the just organized 2nd and 5th Junior Reserve Battalions.
    Surrender on April 26, 1865.
    Also known as the 71st Regiment, North Carolina Infantry
  • 3rd Regiment, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Formed in January,1865, by consolidating the 4th, 7th, and 8th Junior Reserve Battalions.
    Surrendered with the Army of Tennessee.
    Alson known as the 72nd Regiment, North Carolina Infantry
  • 4th Battalion, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Organized with three companies at Raliegh on 30 May 1864.
    Fourth company assigned on 15 June 1864.
    Consolidated with the 7th and 8th Infantry Battalions, Junior Reserves, and designated as the 72 Infantry Regiment, at Wilmington 3 January 1865.
  • 4th Regiment, North Carolina Senior Reserves
    Organized in early 1865.
    Included in the surrender of Army of Tennessee on 26 April 1865.
    Does not appear in the Official Records.
    Also known as the 73rd North Carolina Infantry Regiment.
  • 5th Regiment, North Carolina Senior Reserves
    Organized by the consolidation of Stowe's Infantry Battalion, Senior Reserves, with other units in early 1865.
    Surrendered with the Army of Tennessee, 26 April 1865.
    Does not appear in the Official Records.
    Also known as the 74th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry.
  • 7th Battalion, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Organized with three companies at Wilmington on 4 June 1864.
    Concolidated with the 4th and 8th Infantry Battalions, Junior Reserves, and designated as the 72nd Infantry Regiment (3rd Junior Reserves) at Wilmington on 3 January 1865.
  • 8th Battalion, North Carolina Junior Reserves
    Organized with three companies at Morganton on 10 June 1864.
    Consolidated with the 4th and 7th Infantry Battalions, Junior Reserves, and designated as the 72nd Infantry Regiment (3rd Junior Reserves) at Wilmington on 3 January 1865.
