History

The short lived Penshurst poor Law Union was formed on 25 March 1835 but on 22 September 1836 amidst opposition the parishes were transferred to Sevenoaks Poor Law Union, Kent and by 1838 the Union workhouse constructed at Bough Beech Green was sold.
