South Ogden was settled by Mormon pioneers from Brownsville (Ogden) in 1848. Named Burch Creek for Daniel Burch in 1850. [1] Burch Creek was an agriculture and dairy farming community. More development took place in 1890 with the arrival of the railroad. On July 6 1936 the town of South Ogden was established. The area grew with the housing boom created by its close location to Hill Air Force Base. [2]
