Talk:Franklin County, IdahoEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
In the 1900 census for Bannock County, Cleveland Precinct the first 28 families enumerated on June 2 were living in Mink Creek which is now part of Franklin County. Among those families is the family of James Morgan Keller who was the first settler of Mink Creek and also my great grandfather Carl Christensen who homesteaded there in 1882. We must surmise that Franklin County was also created from parts of Bannock County as well as from Oneida County. In fact, the community of Mink Creek was divided between these two counties. This is graphically illustrated in William Thorndale and William Dollarhide's "Map Guide to the U.S. Federal Censuses, 1790-1920."
