Finding land records in Mexico

This page give information about what to look for.  It also gives a couple of places to look at (but you have to be there or pay for them).  It also give an address for property that is now part Texas.

This article fails to teach how to go to the state in question and how to find the paperwork in the city in question.  Example:  I am a descendant from Merida, Yucatan.  The civil records only show births, deaths, marriages, marriage information, and adoptions.  there is no information on land records, no information on businesses in the area, no information on emigrants/imigrants.  It also covers the years 1860 to 1970.

Any data prior to that, I have no clue where to turn.  For births, marriages, and deaths I can go to the church records.  For this information I gave it one star.

I've added information for accessing the Family History catalog to search for a specific city.  I hope that will help.  If you find additional records for your area, would you consider adding that information to the article?  We'd love to have your help in improving the page.Lynda 22:23, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
