Talk:User group meeting & agenda 1 October 2008Edit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
Inasmuch as the efforts to take minutes of last week's meeting "timed out," it might be well to have someone summarize the discussion and decisions made regarding use of diacritics in names of pages, etc. so we have a record of that discussion on file.

I don't even remember where that discussion went. I think the resolution was to post a discussion in forums and resolve it there. I remember trying to post the forum discussion and losing it, at least temporarily, to some kind of timeout. I'll see if it was preserved and whether the community has discussed it further. By the way, my computer says is was 6:32 p.m. when I posted the above message, and it was still light outside, so I think it may be correct. Is there a way to reset the time of the postings to the correct time?Or is this Greenwich Mean Time? Funny I've never noticed that before!!

I dunno, Jimmy. If I were you I'd send it as a tech support or feedback issue. Ritcheymt 16:01, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
It definitely is in GMT (same as UTC as it is marked). I do not remember if I have seen it or not. That would be easy enough to find out . . . The signature code (four tildas) gets changed to plain text. If it is not in GMT, whose time zone should it be displayed in? SLC, the author, or what? It would then have to display the time offset stored in the user's preferences. Thomas Lerman 20:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
barnraising? New York?
What's this about New York, considering how far along it has been? dsammy 16:46, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
I think Michael and others discussed the basic idea of a barnraising on the Forums site some months ago. You can find that thread there. JamesAnderson 19:27, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know if this is a topic of discussion elsewhere, but most Wikis have the navigation bar on the left. It's much more intuitive there. Russwarne 04:29, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, this is being discussed in the Forums (see the link in the Navigation box). Please feel free to join the discussions. Thomas Lerman 04:37, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
