FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.
The Tomball Family History Center is located in the Cypress Texas Stake Center.  Our entrance can be accessed by entering through the rear doors of the building. Resources for leaders of youth groups, and community groups. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Center Resources


  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Reference books on genealogical research for various areas and subjects
  • Some microfilm on permanent loan (ordered by patrons doing their own research, so areas are limited)
  • Microfiche copies of numerous books and other resources -- fiche are cataloged and patrons can search by location, family name, etc.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. 

Hardware and Equipment

  • 7 Computer Stations with internet access and free access to most free and "pay" genalogical  internet sites.
  • WiFi Internet Access with Scanning and Printing capabilities ($.10 per printed page)
  • 3 Microfilm Viewing Stations
  • 2 Microfische Viewing Stations
  • Ability to order microfilm and microfische collections which are available for order through

    Clayton Library is a department of the Houston Public Library devoted entirely to genealogical research. Materials found in the library cover the entire U. S., as well as many foreign countries.
