Sir Paul was knighted in 1988 for his contributions to society in dentistry, scouting, his church, and genealogy. Sir Paul is the author of 11 Child Family History Books. Sir Paul has 52 years of scouting where he is a Silver Beaver, and choses the top Eagle Scouts in Utah for scholarships. In dentistry Paul served as President of the Utah Academy of General Dentistry and Regional Director over 7 western states. Dr. Child became a Master of the AGD and was presented "The Best and Top Dentist in America Awards". In the church, Paul has served as bishop and in stake callings for 19 years. He and his wife VaLane served as temple ordinaces workers for 6 years in the Ogden Temple. He has travel through the British Isles twice taking pictures and doing family history research. His 48 years of genealogy research culminated in a mission in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. He was married to Mary Margaret Ginn who died in 2001 of cancer. Together, they had 10 children. Paul then married 17 May 2003 to Eva Valane Rawson Seifert, widow, in the Ogden Temple. She has 7 children and together they have 60 grandchildren.
