Hi, this is me. Is this the page you are asking about? I am working a counter shift right now, so I'm trying to remember what page you were having problems with. If this was the page you were trying to add to the Main section of the wiki, then here are my answers/suggestions: We will eventually change all portal pages to a regular wiki page. So you may want to consider recreating the design outside of the portal design. I'm amazed it's actually working in your sandbox anyway, because code extensions have to be added to a namespace in order for a portal to work. FYI, your sandboxes and your user page are in the "User" namespace. Kind-of like having different file cabinets for different purposes or content. Anyway, we discovered search engines do not find content in all the boxes on a portal page, so that's why we are moving away from having them. We have several portal pages that have already been recreated as regular pages and we have some guidelines for making the changes. I'm not sure what the title of the article is, but it's here somewhere in the Wiki. I love what you've done with this portal page and I think it will still be great as a regular page. I'm off now, so I will get back with you more about the issues of moving this content to the Main namespace. Franjensen 23:00, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, this is the page I've been trying to move over to the main United States History page. If I knew who made the changes to the portal pages already, I'd go in and check out the format that they used. I sure would like to clean up what I've done to the United States History Page. I will recreate it, I can see what you mean about the search ability of the portal pages. Just looking for a guideline to get me headed in the right direction. Thanks tons! Michael's explanation is at the bottom of his user page: User:RitcheyMT and a few examples include: Pennsylvania and England/Test1 and United States and Ireland and Scotland and England and Wales - there might be others, but those are the ones that I'm aware of. I don't know why both the Portal:Pennsylvania and the new Pennsylvania page are being used at the same time. Some links go to the Portal, and others go to the new PA page. I need to do the conversion for Utah, but haven't found the time to do it yet. Let me know if you have any more questions and thanks again for all your hard work! Franjensen 22:52, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
I just revamped the United States History page by following the example of the United States Page. If you get a chance, I can always use suggestions to make it better. You are welcome! I love doing this!!
