Parish History

The township of Wardlow was originally divided between the parishes of  Great Longstone, Derbyshire and Hope, Derbyshire The part within Hope, Derbyshire transferred to form the chapelry and later parish of Bradwell in 1868. The chapel of ease of Good Shepherd was built in 1873 and licensed for baptisms in that year; the churchyard burials began in 1876.
