  • 18th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in March 15, 1862. Moved to Louisville, Kentucky, June, and mustered out July 18, 1865.
  • 19th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in March 15, 1862.
    Moved to Louisville, Kentucky, June, and mustered out July 18, 1865.
  • 20th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in August 23, 1862. Ordered to Galveston, Texas, June 22, and duty there until July 14. Mustered out July 14, 1865.
  • 24th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in August 15, 1862. Moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and duty there until June. Mustered out June 10, 1865.

Units 25th through 34th

  • 29th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in September 27, 1862. Shreveport May 26-June 8, and duty there until June 22. Mustered out June 22, 1865.
  • 30th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Camp Randall, Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 21, 1862. Companies "B," "E" and "G" moved to Frankfort, Kentucky, February, 1865, and duty there until June. Mustered out September 20, 1865.
  • 31st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Companies "A," "B," "C," "D," "E" and "F" organized at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 9 1862.
    Companies "G," "H," "I" and "K" organized at Camp Utley, Racine, Wisconsin, and mustered in December 24, 1862. Grand Review Washington, D.C. May 24.
    Companies "A" to "F" mustered out June 20, and Companies "G" to "K" mustered out July 8, 1865.
  • 33rd Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Racine, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 18, 1862. Moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 23-31. Mustered out August 8, 1865.

Units 35th through 43rd

  • 35th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry
    Organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in February 27, 1864. Duty at Brownsville until March, 1866. Mustered out March 15, 1866.
  • 36th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.
    Organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in March 23, 1864. Moved to Louisville, Kentucky, June 17, and there mustered out July 12, 1865.
  • 38th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.
    Companies "A," "B," "C" and "D" organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in April 15, 1861.
    Companies "F," "G," "H," "I" and "K" joined October 1, 1864.Grand Review May 28.
    Second Battalion mustered out June 6, 1865.
    First Battalion on duty at Arsenal, Washington D.C. during trial and execution of President Lincoln's assassins. Mustered out July 26, 1865.

Units 44th through 53rd

  • 44th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.
    Organized at Madison, Wisconsin, by Companies October-November, 1864, and ordered to Nashville, Tennessee.Ordered to Paducah, Kentucky, April 3, and duty there until August. Mustered out August 28, 1865.
  • 48th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.
    Organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, February-March, 1865. "A," "E," "G" and "H" ordered to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, December, 1865, and mustered out December 30, 1865.
    "B," "D," "F" and "I" moved to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, February, 1866, and mustered out February 19, 1866.
    "C" and "K" mustered out at Fort Leavenworth March 24, 1866.
  • 51st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.
    Organized at Camp Washburn, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, March 20-April 29, 1865.
    Companies "G," "H," "I" and "K" did not leave the State and were mustered out May 6, 1865. Company "A" at Crawford River; "B" at Carondelet; "C" and "D" at Kingville; "E" and "F" at Pleasant Hill. Mustered out at Madison, Wisconsin, August 16-30, 1865.
