The York Family History Centre is free for anyone to come along and use for genealogical work. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced genealogist, you will find friendly and helpful advice.

We have 4 PCs, film readers, and a useful genealogy book collection. We can help you order films if you require them, and handle the delivery and return of the films. Film ordering is the only thing we have to charge for, as we have to pass the charges on, but everything else in the centre is free for you to use.

We have free access to many premium web sites including Ancestry.com and Findmypast.com, so come along and save yourself the cost of a personal subscription.

There is plenty of car parking space in the car park, so just park up, come in to the main foyer, and walk down the corridor at the front of the building. The Family History Centre is near the end of the corridor on the right. .
