Probate records and indexes for Øvre Romerike judicial district, 1683-1865. This district includes these clerical districts: Also includes Odalen in Hedmark county until 1773.

In 1842 Øvre Romerike judicial district was divided into two judicial districts: Nes and Eidsvoll. There are indexes by farmname and given names in most of the books. There is also a separate card index for some of the probate records. The card index on films 1149121 and 1149122 was filmed in 1982 on 16 mm. film.

Contains dates, names of deceased, heirs, guardians and trustees, inventory lists, land and holdings, and other miscellaneous information.

Early probate records for clergy, school teachers, and military officers were often separated from the regular probate records. Church officials conducted probate proceedings for priests or schoolteachers, commanding officers for military officers. After 1812 a probate judge conducted these probates along with all other probates.
