On unreadable text on the 1940 Index forms.

1.  If the Location is Same Place or Same House, you can access the 1930 Census information for the locatin you are currently working.

2. If the Birth location or this informatin is not known; You can find them using a general search on the Name and Birth Date.

I have found this very helpful, in identofying the proper spelling of a person name.  Proper only in the context that the 1930 Census was spelled correctly.
