The Family History Library Catalog is an online catalog showing descriptions and call numbers for the records in the collection of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Call numbers include films, fiche and books. There are eight ways to search for the information within the catalog. These searches are listed below.

  • Place Search
    • Look for records by typing the name of a place.
  • Surname Search
    • Find family histories by typing a particular name.
  • Keyword Search
    • Find records that match the keywords you typed.
  • Title Search
    • Locate a record by typing the title.
  • Film/Fiche Search
    • Find a record by typing the film or fiche number.
  • Author Search
    • Locate a record by typing the name of an author.
  • Subject Search
    • Find records matching the subject you typed.
  • Call Number Search
    • Find the record for a book by typing the exact book number.
