Parish History

Arkengarthdale (St Mary the Virgin) is an Ancient parish.
Arkengarthdale parish, in the union of Richmond, wapentake of Gilling-West, North Riding of Yorkshire, is 12 miles (W. by N.) from Richmond. There are places of worship for Primitive Mehodists and Wesleyans at Langthwaithe.[1]
