Ashby St Mary is an Ancient parish in the Diocese of Norwich and the county of Suffolk

An ocatagonal round tower church the interior "barn Church" retains  timbers which follow the shape of the branches from which they were cut, and is thatched. The nave beams are exposed beams underside and carrying the thatch, while the underside of the Chancel is boarded.
