Parish History

This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1610.

AUGHTON (All Souls), a parish, partly in the union of Howden, and partly in that of Pocklington, Holme-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, East Riding,Yorkshire, containing the chapelry of East Cottingwith. The parish includes Gribthorpe, Gribthorpe and Willitoft, Willitoft, Spaldington and Laytham. There is a place of worship for Weleyan Methodists.[1][2]
