Question: The INDEXES for this collection are available online but it appears that the
IMAGES are no longer available? Is there another way to view the images?
Images for the Austria, Vienna Population Cards, 1850-1895 collection are not available on FamilySearch.org due to privacy restrictions which require images to be older than 115 years from the date of birth before images of the records can be published online for public access.
In the case of the Austria Vienna Population Cards, each card could contain several individuals; in order to publish that single image, all individuals on that single population card must have birthdates that are older than 115-years. Since the collection was maintained between 1850 and 1928 there may be individuals on these cards born as late as 1927/1928. Therefore, FamilySearch has determined that the images in this collection will not be available for online viewing for several years.
The films for these records, listed as Meldezettel (männliche und weibliche Personen), 1850-1928 in the library catalog, can be ordered into a nearby FamlySearch Center for viewing. For instructions on how to order film and locate the nearest FamilySearch center, see Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche.
