Williams, G.H. The Tinling Family. The Family in Minorca. A Carpenter named Issac Tinling, worked in Minorca from 1738-1781, of whose descendants many have since lived in Hampshire. Mr. Williams has since placed in the Hampshire Record Office and Library a summary of the male Tinling line of the U.K., Canada and U.S.A. to the present day. This article gives a well documented history of the family, starting in 1738, along with a copy of the Sinclair Arms from the Burke's Peerage book. One of the descendants having married in to the Sinclair line (St. Clair). Article is in The Hampshire Family Historian, vol. XII, no.2, August 1985, pages 67-69.
