Church Records

Church records include priest and sexton records from Avaldsnes clerical district. Avaldsnes clerical district ncluded Kopervik parish from 1855-1887 which became its own clerical district in 1888. Also included Førdesfjord from 1893-1969, which became part of Tysvær clerical district in 1969. Separate books were kept from 1881 for Kopervik bysogn and Kopervik landsogn (Stangaland), and also for the parish clerks records from 1891.

Probate records for the years 1666-1795 are in the combined Ryfylke and Karmsund judicial districts in Rogaland county.

For 1793-1901 the records are in the Karmsund judicial district.

The clerical probates are found in Karmsund deanery in Rogaland county, Norway. They are for the years 1692-1812.
