Known Issues

Question #1: I see records at Belgium, West Flanders, Civil Registration, 1582-1910 > Mouscron. Isn't Mouscron in Hainaut Province, not West Flanders?
Answer #1: In 1963 Mouscron or Moeskroen was transferred from West Flanders province to Hainaut province as part of the language alignment of Belgium. Mouscron is the French spelling. At the time the records were created, Moeskroen (as it was then spelled) was in West Flanders.

Question #2: At the browse point Anzegem > Geboorten, huwelijken, overlijden 1797-1803, the index jumps from letter J to letter V between images 81 and 82. How can I see the missing indexes?
Answer #2: The index is missing from the film as well. It appears that it wasn't available for filming.

Question #3: At the browse point Anzegem > Geboorten, huwelijken, overlijden 1820-1828, the records stop in March 1827. How can I see the records through December 1828?
Answer #3: Nearly 100 images were inadvertently omitted from this browse point. The images are available on Film 1071739. See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche for instructions on ordering microfilm as well as finding a local FamilySearch Center where you can view the films.

Question #4: Does the browse path for Houtem also included records for Houthem (Tournai) in Hainaut Province?
Answer #4: Yes, the following browse points are from Houthem (Tournai) in Hainaut and not from Houtem (Veurne) West Flanders:

  • Houtem > Geboorten, huwelijken, overlijden 1816-1855 > Image of 1043
  • Houtem > Geboorten, huwelijken, overlijden 1856-1900 > Image of 1003
  • Houtem > Huwelijksafkondigingen 1804-1890 > Image of 573
  • Houtem > Tafels op geboorten, huwe...ken, overlijden 1798-1815 > Image of 763
