Chapelry History

The Chapelry of Emmanuel Bolton-le-Moors was built in 1838 and stood in the civil parish boundaries of St Peter Bolton-le-Moors. Emmanuel church, built in 1838 originated in a desire on the part of the parishioners to present a service of plate to the vicar, who requested the fund might be applied rather to the building of a church in the most destitute part of the town; it is a handsome structure in the early English style, with a tower and spire.[1]
