Record Description

This collection includes immigration documents kept by the Polícia da Corte in Rio de Janeiro. These records were meant to track the arrival, departure, and internal movement of Portuguese immigrants in Brazil and include personal information such as age, marital status, profession, place of residence, and physical characteristics. They are currently housed at the National Archives in Rio de Janeiro.

Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
