Class Schedule

All classes are held in the Training Room of the Family History Center. Please register in advance by calling the Brigham City Family History Center at 723-5995.

If there are not enough patrons signed up for a particular class, the class will be canceled. Some classes may be repeated at a later time if there is enough interest.

Thursday May 2 - 6:00 pm - Family Tree Advanced, taught by Linda Peterson
"This doesn't look like my ancestor"! This class teaches changing relationships and merging duplicate names. If there is time, a brief view of photos and stories will be taught.

Wednesday May 8 - 10:00 am - Family Tree Beginning, taught by Claudette Hall
This class teaches the basics of family tree from logging on to maneuvering through different aspects on the tree page and the person page. Adding information and searching will also be taught if time during the lesson.

Thursday May 9 - 6:00 pm - Native American Research, taught by Jhon Bryan
The Northern Shoshone Council has requested this class to help find resources for Native American Research. Jhon has served in the FHL in Salt Lake City and has experience with Native American Research. This class is designed for this council, but others interested are welcome to attend.

Tuesday May 14 - 10:00 am - Internet research class, taught by Linda Peterson
This class teaches how to use different sites on the internet to find information for genealogy and some basic research skills in helping find names for the temple.

Wednesday May 15 - 10:00 am - Family Tree Intermediate, taught by Claudette Hall
This class teaches how to reserve ordinances for the temple, editing information and relationships on our family tree. Merging and sourcing are also taught.

Tuesday May 21 - 10:00 am - Family Tree Photos & Stories, taught by Linda Peterson
This class teaches how to upload photos and stories to Family Tree. Participants should bring photos and stories stored on a removable drive to practice using these features of Family Tree.

Tuesday May 21 - 6:00 pm - US Census Research, taught by Shari Duce
This class teaches how to use various US Censuses and how to analyze the information these censuses can reveal.

Thursday May 30 - 6:00 pm -Analyzing Your Pedigree, taught by Boyd Nielsen AG
As an Accredited Professional Genealogist, Boyd Nielsen shares his expertise in analyzing information from various sources that apply to your research. This is a class that you don't want to miss.
