The leading place for Guernsey Family History and local studies.  Significant collection of studies of Norma-French patois.  18th and 19th Century  histories and manuscripts.  Maps, Newspapers including the very first newspaper published in 1791. Files of news cuttings on various local topics.  Many on microfilm.  Compilation of a new searchable electronic newspaper database is under way.  Photographs.

Societe Guernesiaise www.societe.org.gg  Details of their holdings.  Parish Church Registers.  Guernsey Census1841-1901 indexes have been completed.  Memorial Inscriptions. Obituaries from 1872-1889, card index. Very informative if the Death took place overseas. BMD entries from the Guernsey Evening Press News extracted from 1994, to present day.

Societe Jersiaise www.societe-jersiaise.org This Society has very helpful records for Family History.  Parish Records, Civil Registers 1842 onwards island index. Census Records, Church of England and other Church Records.  Cemeteries and Church yards.  Official Records, Almanacs and Rate Lists.
