If a batch is downloaded and it is a record of Indian Scouts, index any records with names but skip any that are just a number or obviously another type of designation rather than a name. If the entire document contains no names, mark it as No Extractable Data and sumit it.
If two enlistment dates are listed, index the earliest date.
Many line numbers have a fraction (1/2) after them. They should be dropped when indexing.
Ages: When more than one age is listed for a person, index the oldest age.
The names of forts go in the Enlistment Town or City field
The names of territories go in the Enlistment State field.
Military Unit - Hidden Field: We no longer index the military unit. If you have a batch that was indexed before the change, the field will be hidden and you will need to unhide the field and carefully arbitrate it. It can be unhidden in two ways:
1-Click View/Organinze Fields and unhide the field or
2-Try to submit the batch. This will unhide the field.
