Review of last meeting

Progress reports

  • Newspapers task ready for review
  • All links to the FHL catalog were updated. Sevier and Salt Lake counties had not even been done. This was no small feat to accomplish in one week. Thank you Liz and Lois!
  • Obituaries area: Kudos to Jana who made helpful comments (and voted)
  • Icons for tips: Joy did a few more experiments
  • Photo info page no real progress since last week : tabled for now. data more immediately important.

Idea share

  • Important for Utah: FamilySearch Marketing area is linking from the 1940 census announcements to the Utah (all states, really) topic pages. Shall we move attention temporarilly to those pages?

Tasks to finish writing this week

Obituaries Review what is there so far:

Tasks we need to get going on

We need to get these ready so we can make the task. Two people voted. So, we will discuss review in the following order (including doing the state-level of these topics): Discussions order:

  1. Vital records, including divorce
  2. Cemeteries
  3. Church
  4. Libraries

Topics that may need less discussion: Wilma can do examples, get suggestions and approval

  • Probate
  • Land and property
  • Court
  • Funeral home records

Discussions of even the "easier" topics may take three weeks:
Week 1. Write something in the experimental county area for the group to respond to, then capture ideas (on the talk page) from the group in the meeting
Week 2. Implement the ideas and suggestions in the experimental county area and its talk page
Week 3. Bring it back to the group for discussion. When finalized, Wilma (or other person?) will write up the task.

  • Shall we have different people in charge of a topic? Will that make it go more quickly, or just rush things?
  • Or shall we have assistants to Wilma for each topic?

Future meetings

Meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m.

  • Progress reports
  • To be determined by the group
