== Registering for Consultation ==
+

+
Patrons can register for a Consultation by telephone at 801-240-2584 or 866-406-1830, upon which our telephone agents will connect the patron to one of the workgroups listed below. Patrons can also register in person at the Family History Library by visiting the appropriate reference desk.
+

+
Consultation sessions will be 30-45 minutes each. Patrons may sign up for multiple sessions, if needed, but not two sessions in a row. The number of sessions for which patrons may sign up will depend on the number of patrons needing assistance that day and/or the number of staff available.
+

+
At the time of registration, patrons will be required to give their name, phone number and an e-mail address where they can be reached if a consultation session must be cancelled (Library closure, illness of staff members, etc.) and for possible follow-up and feedback about the service.
+

+
Expect to be asked many other questions at the time you register for consultation. The purpose of the questions is to determine if your situation is best suited for a consultation appointment, or if it can better be handled immediately. Also expect to be asked to prepare for an appointment by organizing and bringing all your research papers, especially well-documented family group records of the appropriate families.
