Foote County, Kansas was organized March 20, 1873, never organized , and was defunct by March 13 1881. DV Kansas Historical Society

Origin of Name

May have been named for American naval officer Andrew Hull Foote (1806-1863), called 'the gunboat commodore.' . For more information see DV Kansas Historical Society

Location

Foote County was never organized; in 1881 it was attached to Ford and Finney counties. Kansas Historical Society
