History

Garfield County, North Dakota was formed 13 Mar 1885 from Mountrail and Stevens Dakota territory(in present North Dakota). Then on 02 Nov 1889 it became a county. In 08 Nov 1892 it lost all territory to McLean County and Ward County and Garfield became extinct. [1]
