Record Description

This collection contains Jewish records from the Brandenburgisches Landeshauptarchiv (Brandenburg Main State Archive). Records include censuses, lists of Jewish families, registers of Jewish passports, and certified copies of Jewish birth, marriage, and death certificates. These records are in German.

For a list of records by document type and dates currently published in this collection, select the Browse link from the collection landing page.

Jewish records may contain the following information:

  • Name
  • Occupation
  • Age
  • Place of residence
  • Previous places of residence
  • Place of birth

How to Use the Record

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒Select "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒Select the "Archival call number, record type and year range" category which takes you to the images

Search the collection by image comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
