Record Description

This collection will include records of civil registration of births, marriages, and death for Hesse, Germany from 1851-1899. Birth records are available for 1851-1899, marriages only for 1849-1928, and deaths for 1851-1978. Not all localities are complete, however, records will continue to be added to this collection over time. Check the wiki or browse the collection to determine current coverage. Original records are located in the Hessisches Staatsarchiv Marburg and in the Institut für Stadtgeschichte, Frankfurt. The records are in German.

  • Marriage dates
  • Death dates
  • Ages
  • Places of birth, death, or residence
