Greene County, Nebraska was formed 16 Mar 1855 from Cass County and Pierce County. Finally in 26 Jan 1856 this county was redefined; gained from Pierce County, York County, and from area formerly part of Clay County(original, extinct) and Saline County before those counties were relocated.
