Introduction

Hawarden (pronounced /ˈhɑrdən/ "Harden"; Welsh: Penarlâg) is a village in Flintshire, Wales. Hawarden forms part of the Deeside conurbation on the Welsh/English border.

Hawarden is located near to Ewloe, Mancot and Broughton

Hawarden's most famous residents are Emma, Lady Hamilton (1761–1815), the former Prime Minister, William Ewart Gladstone (1809–1898), the curate of Hawarden the Rev. Harry Drew, and the professional footballer Michael Owen (b. 1979).
