Chapelry History

HEATON-NORRIS, a chapelry, in the parish of Manchester, union of Stockport, hundred of Salford, S. division of the county of Lancaster, 2 miles northwest by north of Stockport; comprising the townships of Heaton-Norris and Reddish. The chapel is dedicated to St Thomas and it was in operation by at least the year 1769. Christ Church, another chapelry in this district chapelry, was built and completed in 1846. There are places of worship for dissenters, including an Independent chapel. [1]
