Thank you for being willing to take on the responsibilities of a Research Wiki Trainer! As a Wiki Trainer, you'll teach others about contributing to the Wiki. Whether you:

  1. Are part of an organization who is contributing in a specific area, or
  2. Are an individual who would like to help others learn how to contribute,

...we appreciate your service.

Learn about the Wiki

If you are new to the wiki, you'll want to be aware of four important areas to explore further:

  1. The Wiki Tour
  2. The Contributor Helps page
  3. The Community Center
  4. The Community links on the right

Those four sets of links will give you all the information you need to get started. They are also the first links that you will let others know about as you help them to become contributors in the Wiki.

Responsibilities of the Wiki Trainer

Within an Organization

As a Wiki Trainer affiliated with an organization, your goal will be to help other members of that organization be successful in contributing to the Wiki.
Adopting Organizations
Your responsibility will be to work with individuals to help them be successful as they attempt to get started in the Wiki.
  • Work one-on-one with individual members to help them know how to contribute
  • Make sure they know where to go for help
Family History Centers or LDS Stakes
Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Begin by working with your family history center director to create a page for your family history center in the Wiki. If you do not already contribute to the Wiki, this will give you a good place to start. Go here for instructions.
  • Teach the Family History Consultants about the Research Wiki, what it is, and how to use it for research
  • Help them capture their knowledge

An Individual

If you have found satisfaction in contributing your knowledge to the Wiki and would like to share that joy with others, we welcome you to reach out to others and help them be successful as well.
