Naturalization records have usually been filed with the clerk of the U.S. District Court in each county courthouse. The records of some counties are in neighboring counties. The Idaho Supreme Court in Boise has some records from 1890.

For naturalization records after September 1906, contact the nearest office of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly INS) at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

The Idaho State Historical Society Public Archives and Research Library has created an index to naturalization records.

Headings in the index are:

* Last name
* Given name
* Country of nativity
* Type of record
* Date

When a name in the index is listed more than once, possibly more than one kind of citizenship record exists for that individual.

Instructions for obtaining a copy of the original record are given on the website. The request may be made by mail, e-mail and telephone. There are photocopy and research fees for this service. Check the Family History Library Catalog to determine if the record is also in the library holdings.
