Description and History of Centre
The Irish Ancestry Research Centre (IARC) is a leading provider of research, education and genealogy training in History of Family and Irish ancestry. The centre also provides digitization services for local and national repositories with a particular focus on genealogical sources. It is based on the campus of the University of Limerick in the West of Ireland. A University of Limerick campus company, IARC is open to the public.

Ms Pauline Ryan
Pauline Ryan is Chairman of the Board of Trustees, IARC, and is also Director of The America Ireland Fund.
Dr Ciara Breatnach
Dr Breathnach holds a Lectureship at the Department of History, University of Limerick, where she is also Course Director for the MA (History of Family) since 2005. She is also president of the Society for the Study of Nineteenth Century Ireland.
Mr David Cronin
Mr David Cronin is Chief Execuitve Officer of the University of Limerick Foundation.
Ms Catriona Crowe
Catriona Crowe is Head of Special Projects at the National Archives of Ireland. She is Manager of the Irish Census Online Project, which has placed the 1901 and 1911 censuses online free of charge.
Dr Vincent Cunnane
Dr Vincent Cunnane became the Chief Executive of Shannon Development in 2008. He was formerly Vice President Research (VPR) at the University of Limerick and Associate Professor in Physical Chemistry.
Ms Fiona A. Ross
Ms Fiona A. Ross was appointed Director of the National Library of Ireland in 2010. She is also a board member of the Irish Manuscripts Commission.
Máire Mac Conghail
Máire Mac Conghail is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists in Ireland and also a member of the Irish Manuscripts Commission.
Mr John Ryan
John Ryan was founder and chairman of Macrovision, now Rovi Corporation, in California until his retirement in 2008. Born in Tipperary, he has a great interest in many philanthropic ventures throughout Ireland.

Dr Ciara Breatnach
Dr David J. Butler
David J. Butler, Academic Director of IARC, is an historical geographer by training, and is a graduate of The National University of Ireland--University College Cork in history and geography. He is Hon. Editor of The Irish Genealogist and Member of the Council of the Irish Genealogical Research Society.
Ms Lorna Molony
Lorna Molony, the Visiting Lecturer in History of Family and Genealogical Methods, acts as the educational project manager of IARC. She teaches genealogy and family history workshops delivered at the certificate level at the University of Limerick.
Kate Kelleher is senior administrator and tourism manager for IARC.
carol O'Dwyer works part time at IARC and is responsible for event managment, advertising and adminsitration.
Workshops, as well as university accredited certificate and diploma courses, offered in conjucntion with Univeristy of Limerick and University College Cork, are offered by IARC.
IARC has a highly qualified and experienced team of genealogical researchers who provide assistance and analysis both online and in person at the centre.
IARC has digitised information dating from the 15th century forward and offer their equipment and expertise for digitising projects.
