This collection consists of civil registration (stato civile) of births, marriages, and deaths within the custody of the Modica Courthouse (Tribunale di Modica). Includes residency records (cittadinanze); and marriage banns (pubblicazioni). This collection of civil registrations records covers the years 1866-1942. Availability of records is largely dependent on time period and locality.

How to Use the Record
Search the Collection
To search the collection image by image select "Browse through images" on the initial collection page
⇒ Select the appropriate “Comune o frazione”
⇒ Select the appropriate “Registro e L'Anno” which takes you to the images.
Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
