the collection consists of civil registration (stato civile) of births, marriages, and deaths within the custody of the State Archive of Torino (Archivio di Stato di Torino). Includes supplemental records (allegati); ten-year indexes (indici decennali); and marriage banns (pubblicazioni). Availability of records is largely dependent on time period and locality.

  • Name of the child
  • Parents’ names

The key genealogical facts found on most marriage records include the following information:

  • Date of marriage
  • Place of marriage
  • Names of the groom and bride
  • Ages of the groom and bride
  • Residence of all
  • Parents’ names
  • Witnesses’ names


The key genealogical facts found on most death records include the following information:

  • Date of death
  • Place of death
  • Time of death
  • Cause of death
  • Sometimes the parents’ names

How to Use the Record

To search the collection, select "Browse through images" on the initial collection page,
⇒ Select the “Provincia”
⇒ Select the “Comune o frazione”
⇒ Select the “Registro e L'Anno” that takes you to the images.

Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
