Beginning your Search
To search this collection, it would be helpful if you knew the following information:
- Ancestor's name
- Ancestor's residence at the time of register
Searching the Images
To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒ Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒ Select the “Municipality”
⇒ Select the “Record Type”
⇒ Select the “Date Range and Volume” which will take you to the images.
Look at each image comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
Using the Information
If you have found the information you are looking for:
- You can take the residence at the time of the register and look through the censuses to find their family, if they have any.
- When you find their birth date, look through the births and christenings records for the names of the parents.
- You can look at the arrival date and look through the naturalization papers for the place of birth, name of spouse, names of children, and names of parents.
Unable to Find Information?
- Look through the indexes for a nickname or a shortened version of the name (i.e. George, Geo.)
- Search the censuses to get a clue of where your ancestors residence is at the time of the election.
