History

First settlement in 1834 was abandoned until the establishment of Fort Clark in 1852.

BrackettVille is the largest town in Kinney County, population is approximately 1100 persons.

Fort Clark which is now a subdiVision and membership community swells to over 1,000 persons in the Winter when the winter folks arrive from the colder climates in the northern states.

Spofford is a small town to the South of Brackettville on State Hwy 131. Presently there are approximately 90 residents in this town.
