Kristkirkens parish was established 25 April 1900 after splitting off from Skt. Matthæus parish.

The following is a chronological list of changes to the parish:

  • 1923 - The parish was split. The off-branch became known as Kristkirkens søndre parish (later called Enghave parish).
  • 1954 - part of the parish was split and given to Frederiksberg parish.
