Why is a date sometimes listed as 1710/1711? What does WFT EST 1826-1860 mean? What is Lady Day? What was the first day of the year in Virginia in 1750 (Hint: It was not 1 January)? What is an Ahnentafel numbering system? What full name corresponds to the nickname "Lemuel"? What is the modern equivalent of the 18th century occupation of "Waiter"? Have fun testing your genealogical knowledge of seemingly trivial, but often important, genealogical facts and standards.

20 Questions: Fine Points of Family History

Why is a date sometimes listed as 1710/1711? What does WFT EST 1826-1860 mean? What is Lady Day? What was the first day of the year in Virginia in 1750 (Hint: It was not 1 January)? What is an Ahnentafel numbering system? What full name corresponds to the nickname "Lemuel"? What is the modern equivalent of the 18th century occupation of "Waiter"? Have fun testing your genealogical knowledge of seemingly trivial, but often important, genealogical facts and standards.

Volunteer at the Center

We are always looking for volunteers to help staff our center. We welcome all enthusiatic family historians, regardless of experience or expertise. Even if you have no prior experience as a consultant, we can pair you with experienced consultants until you feel comfortable and trained in the consultant role.
We need consultants for any of our shifts, but have special needs during the day on Thursdays and on Tuesday afternoons. We would also like to open the center on Friday mornings in the future.
