Known Issues

Question #1: The Event Type and Year Range (browse point) title does not properly reflect the actual digital record content. Is there a way to determine what digital records are likely to be found within a collection?
Answer #1: For a way to determine what digital records are likely to be found within a collection or how to find missing images elsewhere, see Document 114052, How to use Film Notes in the Catalog to determine the content of a final browse point in Historical Records.

The following list of known browse point discrepancies describes the event type or year range that actually exist in this collection:

Aquiles Serdán > Santa Eulalia > Bautismos 1743-1837 is described in the Catalog as Film 162590: Bautismos 1749-1837 (incluye Matrimonios 1752-1769). The marriage records are located on Image 341-380.

Aquiles Serdán > Santa Eulalia > Bautismos 1709-1726, 1744-1748, 1753-1773 is described in the Catalog as Film 162596: Bautismos 1709-1726, 1744-1748, 1753-1773 (incluye Matrimonios y Defunciones).

Balleza > San Pablo > Matrimonios 1820-1825, 1833-1895, 1909-1924 is described in the Catalog as
Film 1222927: Matrimonios 1820-1825 (incluye bautismos), Matrimonios 1833-1895, 1909-1924. Images 18-60 are records of baptisms from 1820-1825.

Doctor Belisario Domínguez > San Lorenzo > Confirmaciones 1902-1918 and > Matrimonios 1766-1794, 1776-1791, 1859-1884, 1884-1891, 1891-1907, 1918-1924, 1954-1955: Both browse points contain the entire Film 162588 (1004 images). Film 162588 is described in the Catalog Film Notes as:

  • Items 1 – 2: Confirmaciones 1902-1918
  • Item 3: Bautismos, matrimonios, y defunciones 1766-1794 (sin orden)
  • Items 4 – 9: Matrimonios 1776-1791, 1859-1907, 1918-1924, 1954-1955.

At both browse points, the images are arranged as follows:

  • Items 1 and 2 are Confirmations (images 3-94 are for 1902; images 98-127 are for 1918; images 128-130 are for 1920; images 131-141 are for 1922; images 142-145 are for 1918)
  • Item 3 Bautismos, matrimonios, y Defunciones 1766 -1794 (sin orden) (Images 148- 390)
  • Item 4 1776-1791 Matrimonios (Images 392-484)
  • Item 5 1859-1884 Matrimonios (Images 486-711)
  • Item 6 1884-1891 Matrimonios (Images 713-826)
  • Item 7 1891-1907 Matrimonios (Images 830-951)
  • Item 8 1917-1924 Matrimonios (Images 953-989)
  • Item 9 1954-1955 Matrimonios (Images 992-1004).

Hidalgo del Parral > San José > Defunciones 1649-1723 includes Bautismos 1674-1701 on images 112-302. NOTE: The reference to the parish of San Diego de Minas Nuevas in the records is not a locality problem. Per standard finder: Minas Nuevas (aka Villa Escobedo) is in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Juárez > Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe > Defunciones, 1856-1886 contains births, marriages, and deaths from 1776-1886. The mixed-in records only occur in Images 5-36; the remaining images are Defunciones 1872-1886.

Ojinaga > Jesus Nazareno >Bautismos 1776-1854: the years are correct but out of order.

Valle de Allende > San Bartolome> Bautismos 1662-1686, 1692-1744 year range should be 1662-1744.

Question #2: Some pages appear to be missing. Are these pages available to view?
Answer #2: This problem is due to the condition of the original records. Pages were filmed in the order they appeared in the original record. Pages can usually be found by using forward or backward arrows several images. Ordering the film may or may not help with this problem.
