Known Issues

NOTE: Many of the issues in this collection suggest viewing microfilm (See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche). The films can then be viewed at a local FamilySearch Center.

Question #1: The records for Berrien County 1915 v.1 begin with June. Where can I find records for January?
Answer #1: The records for 1915 v.1 and v.2 have been loaded backwards. Records from January 1 – June 23 are located in Michigan County Marriages 1820-1835 > Berrien > Marriage affidavits 1915 v. 2, and records June 23- December 31 are located in Michigan County Marriages 1820-1835 >Berrien > Marriage affidavits 1915 v. 1.

Question #2: When trying to view records in the Kalamazoo > dgs # 4674178, the image viewer displays no browse points or navigation icons. How can I view these records?
Answer #2: Film 2108664, dgs # 4674178, contains marriages that go to 1940 and the rights for the film restrict it to 75 year, which would be 1939. Film 2108664 can be ordered and viewed at your local FamilySearch Center.

Question #3: I cannot find records for Mackinac County. Are they available?
Answer #3: Mackinac County is not online at this time. The films for these records can be found in the catalog by using the keyword search Michigan Mackinac Marriages. They can then be ordered for viewing. See NOTE above.

Question #4: Where can I find the records for Oakland County? Are they online?
Answer#4: Oakland County is not online at present. The films for these records can be found in the catalog by using the keyword search Michigan Oakland Marriages. They can then be ordered for viewing. See NOTE above.

Question #5: The marriage certificates for Wayne County, Marriage indexes, 1867-1873, v. G appear to be missing. Where can I find the marriage certificates listed in the marriage index?
Answer #5: The marriage index and marriage certificates for this set of records are combined, with the index being the first 50 images and the certificates from 51 to the end. After you determine from the index what page the certificate is on, advance the images until you find the page number. Look down the page until you find the person you are searching.
