All 7th Units

Units 8th and 9th

  • 8th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry - Confederate
    Mustered in late in 1862 with men who had served in the Missouri State Guard. It was assigned to J.C. Porter's, C. Greene's, and J.B. Clark's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. Mustered out prior to the surrender in June, 1865.
  • 8th Regiment, Missouri Infantry - Confederate
    Mustered in September, 1862. 8th (Burns') Infantry Regiment, formerly Hunter's 2nd Regiment.   The unit served in General Parson's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. Later was redesignated the 11th Missouri Regiment.
  • 9th Battalion, Missouri Sharpshooters - Confederate
    Mustered during the winter of 1862-1863 with two companies, later increased to five. The men were recruited from Missouri units in the field. It was assigned to Parson's and S.P. Burns' Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. During the spring of 1865it disbanded.

Units 10th through 13th

  • 10th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry - Confederate
    Organized in December 1863. M.L. Young's 11th Battalion, Missouri Cavalry was its nucleous.
    Surrendered in June 1865.
    The commanders were Colonel Robert R. Lawther, Lieutenant Colonel Merritt L. Young, and Major George W.C. Bennett.
