Parish History

MONKTON, MOOR (All Saints), a parish, in the E. division of Ainsty wapentake, W. riding of York; containing, with the township of Hessay, 454 inhabitants, of whom 305 are in the township of Moor-Monkton, 6½ miles (N. W. by W.) from York, on the road to Ripon. [1]
